hello thar!
I upload stuff (usually new releases), but will lock them after a few days (depending on the legalities in question and how lazy I am).

If you friend me without leaving a comment here first, I'll assume you're here just for my new uploads (which is fine, btw) and will therefore spare you of my personal entries by not friending you back.

Please leave a comment here if you want me to friend you back (and gain access to my masterlist of albums -> linked ↑) because you might be someone I wouldn't want traipsing around on my journal for the obvious reasons. HOWEVER, my list is sadly not up-to-date, and so friending me for access to just that would be kind of pointless.

Don't worry, I won't take offense if you tell me you want to be friends for my music (what?).

(All comments will be screened).

Vampire Weekend is often noted for having diverse influences and a willingness to experiment, both of which shine on this live set. Contra track “Holiday” gets a third-wave ska treatment with a horn section and a slower pace that lets the reggae influences show through. The set features a pair of covers; Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m Going Down” is tenderly delivered by frontman and fellow Jersey boy Ezra Koenig, and the Honeycombs’ “Have I The Right?” is given a jazzier take. Spirited versions of previous singles “Cousins,” “A-Punk,” and “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa” also appear, freshened up with more live horns. Vampire Weekend may not have won a Grammy–or their lawsuit–yet, but this six-track session is a must-have for any fan.

Rachel Taylor and Trevor Kelly are He Is We, an upbeat heartfelt pop duo. The result of this pair is an optimistic, encouraging record that is sure to bring a smile upon the listener’s face; even though the music and lyrics are rather ordinary and basic, that in no way diminishes the genuine feel-good atmosphere of the record.

The Memory Machine is the debut solo album from Julia Stone. One part of the brother & sister duo ‘Angus & Julia Stone’, known for their distinctive voices and intimate arrangements. Julia’s hushed tones resemble a more traditionally pretty Joanna Newsom, while Angus goes the sensitive-baritone route. Julia recorded the ‘Memory Machine’ in New York in late 2008, the album has been described as both haunting and mellow with dark undertones.
